PM Modi to Launch Six New Vande Bharat Trains from Jharkhand: Fleet Expansion to 60
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate six new Vande Bharat trains on September 15, 2024, significantly enhancing the fleet of this cutting-edge rail service. According to the Railway Ministry, this expansion will boost the Vande Bharat fleet from 54 to 60 trains, with each train offering 120 trips daily across over 280 districts in 24 states and union territories.
The new Vande Bharat trains, to be flagged off at Tatanagar Junction Railway Station at 10 am, will introduce advanced features including faster acceleration, the Kavach safety system, an anti-virus system, and onboard WiFi. These innovations mark a significant upgrade from the original Vande Bharat train set, evolving into the more advanced Vande Bharat 2.0.
The Vande Bharat fleet, part of India's ambitious 'Make in India' initiative, has already completed approximately 36,000 trips and transported over 3.17 crore passengers as of September 14, 2024. The new trains will serve the following routes: Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah.
With speeds reaching up to 160 kmph and enhanced safety features, the Vande Bharat trains represent a leap forward in India's rail infrastructure. These semi-high-speed trains are designed to set new standards in travel, reflecting India's commitment to modern, efficient, and world-class transportation.
